This paper introduces deep learning and then looks to anticipated use cases that fit within a sweet-spot for Technica: cybersecurity. Baidu—the Google of China, with 92% of search users in China—claims that deep learning improved its antivirus filters. While promising, doing deep learning for an organization is still very complex. It is a bit like manually coding your own TCP/IP stack to do networking. But is it all hype? Or hope for a new way of working?
