Dulles, VA – August 21, 2013 – Technica Corporation, a leader in Systems Engineering, Software Development, Information Assurance and Product Solutions for the Federal Government, announced today that it is one of the awardees on the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) and Continuous Monitoring as a Service (CMaaS) contract in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle allows Technica to provide the government a variety of hardware, software and services designed to help keep our country’s information safe. Technica will implement a solution made up entirely of Symantec software tools in order to help secure the government enterprise and infrastructure. DHS will then facilitate the use of this CDM technology to civilian agencies nationwide on both a federal and state level to provide true cyber security and situational awareness. The blanket purchase agreement (BPA) has a ceiling value of $6 billion over a five-year period of performance.
“This contract represents a significant milestone for Technica,” said President and Chief Executive Officer, Miguel Collado. “Not only does it strengthen our cyber security practice, but it helps propel our mission of supporting government enterprise situational awareness and protection of our nation’s critical infrastructure. We are looking forward to working closely with Symantec on this important endeavor.”
Technica will supply software and hardware asset management, configuration management, and vulnerability management using Symantec’s Control Compliance Suite (including Vulnerability Manager). Their CDM solution also features Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec Risk Automation Suite, and Symantec Critical System Protection. Technica will provide CDM-CMaaS support including integration with legacy government technology, CDM tool operation and maintenance, and Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V), and CDM dashboard development and integration. The ultimate goal is to provide DHS oversight and critical infrastructure protection system wide on all network-enabled devices.
The Symantec NetBackup Platform with V-Ray technology simplifies and unifies the protection of information-driven enterprises by automating advanced technologies and standardizing operations across applications, platforms, and virtual and physical environments.
