Dulles, VA – June 19, 2014 – Technica Corporation, a leader in Systems Engineering, Software Development, Information Assurance and Product Solutions for the Federal Government, is pleased to announce that it has been appraised at Maturity Level 2 of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) for both:
- Product and Service Development (CMMI-ML2-DEV): Governing software development and other engineering services, and;
- Service Management and Delivery (CMMI-ML2-SVC): Governing technical assistance and services.
CMMI is an internationally recognized performance improvement framework, developed and administered by Carnegie Mellon University. The CMMI model has been implemented by leading companies around the world and is often specified by federal customers as a pre-requisite for bidders on new programs and projects. This is the company’s second re-appraisal for CMMI ML2-DEV and the first appraisal for CMMI ML2-SVC.
“This important achievement signals to our customers our commitment to the highest standards of systems engineering, project, and quality management,” said Bill Groah, Chief Operating Officer of Technica. “The heart of our system is our valued employees, collaborating, and working the levers of clear policy, process, tools, and techniques towards a quality customer mission outcome. The main system tool, Techniques, runs on top of a MS SharePoint collaboration platform which also has strong adoption within our Federal Government customer base. Our team designed and developed the system with custom designed automation and workflow, tailored specifically for the unique needs of each customer program and project, and serves a wide range of project sizes and scope with equivalent efficiency. Validating our program and project management systems now through this appraisal, is critical to our planning and execution success on our two recent major $6 billion indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract awards with the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense (DoD).”
